Corporate Culture: Do You Have It?

Within the dance studio industry, it easy to become lost in the artistic realm of the field; however, it is of utmost important that dance studios equally value the business component of their studio. Sometimes, there are choices made, situations handled, and matters neglected that would likely result in the closure of any other business, but, for some reason, it does not seem to effect the dance studio industry. As dance studio owners, we have the opportunity and obligation to create and demand a higher industrial standard for the betterment of everyone.

At your studio, ask yourself if you have implemented policies and procedures that abide by the philosophy of organizational culture? Do you have goals, missions, and standards that require agreement and adherence from your staff, students, and parents?

If you have not taken the time to consider your studio’s culture, it is imperative that you instate philosophies that will be core to your daily operations. Having central beliefs will align everyone to the same mission, and if someone struggles to abide by these philosophies or balances on the fringe of your beliefs, you will easily recognize and identify that your business is not the best fit for him/her. Try it! You will feel more confident in your corporate identity and brand, and your dance studio will thrive because of it.

What are some of the core beliefs of your studio? Feel free to respond in the comments section below.
