University of Georgia Alumni Association Honors Entrepreneurial Graduates for Company Growth

CHARLOTTE, NC –February 4, 2014 – Jackrabbit Technologies Jackrabbit Technologies, leading provider of online class  management software for youth activities centers, was recently recognized as the 44th fastest growing among companies owned or operated by University of Georgia alumni in The 2014 Bulldog 100: Fastest Growing Bulldog Businesses. The Bulldog 100 honored entrepreneurial alumni in the fifth annual event hosted by the University of Georgia Alumni Association. This is the 4th  consecutive year that Jackrabbit has been ranked in the list.

“We’re honored to continue to rank among the top Bulldog companies. I’m proud that our growth efforts are worthy of recognition by this competitive group of entrepreneurs” said Mahoney. “It is exciting to see  the entrepreneurial spirit that is alive in our  Bulldog community and that we all contribute to innovations that keep us at the forefront of our industry sectors.”

To be considered for the program, an organization must have been in business for at least five years, had revenues of $100,000 or more for the calendar year 2010, and be owned or operated by a former UGA student who owns at least 50% of company or be the CEO, President or Managing Partner. The program recognizes the fastest-growing businesses regardless of size by focusing on a three-year growth rate average. Jackrabbit’s President, Mark Mahoney, graduated from the Terry School of Business with a BBA in 1983.

More than 800 nominations were submitted for this year’s program between January to May 2013.  The class of 2014 includes companies of all sizes, providing services and products in a variety of industries, including advertising, staffing, real estate, pest control and mixed martial arts. Companies as far west as Texas and Kansas, and as far northeast as New Jersey, made the list this year.

“The UGA Alumni Association is pleased to have hosted another successful Bulldog 100 Celebration as the program celebrates its fifth year recognizing top alumni business leaders,” UGA Executive Director of Alumni Relations Deborah Dietzler said. “This is always a well-attended event and the competition to make the Bulldog 100 list each year continues to grow.”

The Atlanta CPA firm, Warren Averett + GH&I, a partner with the UGA Alumni Association since the inception of the program four years ago, verifies the information submitted by each nominated company and ranks them based on compounded annual growth rate.

Information about the Bulldog 100 program, a complete list of the Class of 2014 and 2015 nomination information, is available on the UGA Alumni Association website.
