Jackrabbit Technologies Among Hundreds of Companies that Participated in Charlotte Heart Walk

Jackrabbit Team Walks to Raise Awareness for Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke

CHARLOTTE, NC – September 25, 2013Jackrabbit Technologies, leading provider of online class  management software for youth activities centers, joined more than 12,000 participants in Charlotte for the 2013 Charlotte Heart Walk Saturday morning, September 21st, to raise the public’s

awareness of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and stroke. The Walk began in the heart of uptown Charlotte where participants joined together for many different reasons: Some are survivors, some have loved ones who are survivors or who they have lost to cardiovascular disease or stroke, some are simply aware that they could one day have a close experience with these conditions.

“It is fun to be part of an event, but when the event represents such a worthy cause as this one, it gives us a common bond to band together with others from our area that want to help,” comments Jackrabbit’s President and CoFounder, Mark Mahoney.

Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of all Americans. In fact, someone dies from CVD every 39 seconds. Heart disease also kills more women than all forms of cancer combined. And congenital cardiovascular defects are the most common cause of infant death from birth defects.
