What are the Worst Cities for Families?

I’m not typically someone who dwells on the negative perspective on things but this list caught my eye and sparked by curiosity.

This is good information – even if it does deal with statistics and not what is the spirit of these cities. Reading the descriptions in each cities slide was the interesting part for me (beyond which cities actually “made” the list). The data used to “judge” cities includes rates for unemployment, school system rankings, and percentage of households without health coverage. Indeed, these figures alone are not what you would use to choose your next home, but they do give you information that you can draw a bead on basic infrastructural systems and some basic factors that can be triggers to economic issues. The data shared does impact quality of life and is helpful in predicting how establishing livelihood in these cities might unfold. While areas may have great cultural attributes and amazing destinations for families and children, abysmal school ratings, extraordinarily high food stamp and SNAP assistance need, and sky-rocketing crime rates quickly cancel out any of these cities’ good assets.

Hopefully, your hometown didn’t make this list.
